The Sense Machine | A3 Screen Print

Illustrated at a time when I was filling in forms, scanning documents and passports, researching settlement status in the UK and then also completing an endless list of job applications. This tedious stream of bureaucracy felt like a game which from a distance seems entirely rational and necessary and then the closer you get to the systems they begin to make less and less sense. This series is an attempt at visualising the bureaucratic hoops and doors we all go through to get the paper that says permission granted, you may proceed.

These prints were first illustrated in pencil using stencils, coloured in with black pen and then screen printed.
