Ilkley Fringe Festival Micro Commission

Short Film Montage of Leeds Canal during lock down 2021. Selected as part of the Ilkley Fringe Festival: Micro Commissions. All the scenes were filmed on my phone and were centred around the changing role of the canals from their original purpose as water highways transporting produce and other goods and their current purpose which is more recreational- almost tricking all that walk along its muddy banks to think it is a wonder of nature as opposed to a man made solution to a logistical problem. Coinciding with that is the added man made waste which now accumulates in and around the canals. The theme which was central to the Ilkley Fringe Festival Commission was 'natural world,' in this video I aimed to look at the canal as a place where the man made and natural world have collided.
